Charity proved the winner at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday 27th September.
No fewer than 34 teams lined-up for Captain's Charity Day at Crewe Lane which was successfully hosted by Ann Saywell and Alan Pulham and raised funds for the Air Ambulance.
The quartet of Rob Bench, Ian Jones, Peter Griffiths and Bob Harison emerged triumphant with 89 points.
But the winners needed a back nine countback to edge out runners-up Tony Rossborough, Mike Rossborough, Nick Wright and Richard Lane.
Martin and Anglea Bradley along with Ron and Angela Guest finished third with 88 points from David Wright, Andrew Walsh, Phil Heaton and Ian Jones 86.
Ken and Lyn Harrison, along with Bob Hooper and Alison Seymour-Mead finished fifth by virtue of a better back nine than Philip Eades, Jon Stranks, Bronwyn Maltby and Catherine Midgeley after they both scored 85 points.
The best ladies team was Adell Pulham, Sandra Melling, Valerie Stene and Christine Hurcomb with 85 points.
David Elbourn, Bill McGilvray, Chris Hunt and John Chambers took the best front nine prize with 44 points, while Sam O'Sullivan, Wayne Cunningham, Kenneth MacDonald and Kevin Armour had the best back nine of 46 points.
Nearest the pin winners were: Brian Wheller (2nd); Nick Wright (4th); Charles Leggitt (9th); 1Angela Bradley (10th); Richard Symonds (11th); and Phil Heaton (18th).
The longest drive winners were Charles Leggitt (8th) and Meg Lewis (12th).
Meanwhile, John Hall won the Seniors Challenge Cup with 38 points from Rob Dowell 36 and Mike Maddox 36.
Les Jones took the front nine honours with 19 points, while John Wolfe 19 won the best back nine prize.
