David Matthews provided the highlight of the rescheduled Dennis Mitchell Texas Scramble with a hole-in-one at the club on Sunday 24th January.
Matthews hit the ace with a five-iron on the 188-yard second hole but it was not enough to help his team to victory in a keenly contested affair.
The quartet of Simon Hegan, Vincent Healey, Terry Blake and Sue Rattenbury emerged triumphant with 70, nett 60 and 1/4, from runners-up Maurice Langman, Geoff Owen, Suresh Advani and Pam Parker 70, nett 60 and 5/8.
John Carlin, Vernon Moyers, Tim Bray and Dawn Logue finished third with 68, nett 60 and 3/4, from John Chambers, James Lynch and Toni Shirley 69, nett 60 and 5/6, and Ben Hammond, James Knight, Chris Hunt and Theresa Donnelly 70, nett 61 and 1/8.
Nearest the pin winners were Ernie Stene (7th), Dave Edgeller (10th) and Leslie Cheslin (18th).
