Formed in 1889 and situated in a beautiful parkland setting in the heart of Warwickshire our club is famous for its friendliness and hospitality as well as having one of the great golf courses in the area.

Junior Presentation Dinner

The annual Junior Dinner and Presentation will be taking place on Friday 21 November 2008.

All junior members are encouraged to attend this enjoyable night which celebrates the achievements of our junior members throughout the 2008 season.  Friends and family members are very welcome to attend and the list for the evening can be found on the junior notice board but you will need to act quickly if you wish to attend.  You can register by either adding your name and the number in your group to the list on the notice board this weekend or by notifying me by e-mail to richard@the-lanes.co.uk if you can't get to the club.

The following juniors have one or more prizes to collect on the night and it would be nice to see as many as possible of the prize winners in attendance.

Mike Carrick proved the perfect host at Kenilworth Golf Club's annual President's Dinner on Friday 7th November.

Robert Steele was welcomed and received congratulations for winning the Les Bordes Championship in France which was the final event on the 2008 Ivobank PGA EuroPro Tour,.

It secured him a place on next year's Challenge Tour, which is just one step away from the lucrative European Tour.

Following a splendid meal, captain Alan Pulham and president Mike Carrick presented the season's competition winners with their prizes.

In the November Extra Medal Martin Bradley emerged winner of Division A with 38 points from Jim Lynch 37, while Jeff Naysmith finished top of Division B with 41 points from Peter Hunt 39.

EGM for the Sale of Land

At the EGM held on the evening of 28th October the membership approved the sale of the land adjacent to the 14th tee by 172 votes to 78. The Management Committee would especially like to thank those members who attended the meeting in such poor weather and for  the constructive comments and probing questions prior to the vote being taken.

Mixed Texas Scramble

At the Mixed Texas Scramble competition on Saturday 25th October the quartet of John Close, Tony Hammond, Sue Rattenbury and Jill Symonds emerged winners with 70, nett 61 and 1/8.

They finished just ahead of runners-up Alison Seymour-Mead, Breda Stokes, Tim Bray and Mike Carrick 70, nett 61.75, while Emma Saywell, Teresa Jones, Derek Cooknell and Ted Reading were third with 73, nett 62.5.

Nearest the pin winners were Tony Hammond (7th), Emma Saywell (10th) and John Close (18th).
