Captain David Howe took centre stage at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday 19th May when winning the annual Member and Guest Alliance.
Howe and partner Philip Adcock (Broadway GC) mastered some tricky conditions to amass a splendid 44 points and finish one point clear of runners-up Dean Sparrow and Elliot James (The Warwickshire).
Matthew Robbins and Andrew Webb (Nuneaton GC) finished third on countback from Phil Chatten and Carl Thompson (Kettering GC) and Lee Jones and Damon Fenton after all three pairs logged 41 points.
Keith Thompson and Mick McGlinchey (Forest of Arden) claimed sixth place, again on countback, from Glenn Coleman and Steve Young (Leamington and County) after they both scored 40 points.
Chris Lewis and Nigel Wain (Copsewood Grange) won the best front nine prize with 20 points, while Geoff Owen and Davey Anderson (Lutterworth) took the best back nine honours with 23 points.
Kenilworth duo Liam Sproul and Malcolm Kelly both hit a coveted hole-in-one on the 206-yard 2nd and the 191-yard 10th respectively.
It was Kelly's first ace but, amazingly, Sproul enjoyed a hole-in-one on the 7th in the same competition last year.
