Kenilworth: Course Open. Trolleys and Ride on buggies permitted.
On 19th January the massive frame of Scottish International 2nd row Dodie Weir visited Kenilworth Golf Club. At 6 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a red and green tartan suit it would have been hard not to spot him as he mingled with the attendees of the evening.
During his very humorous talk he managed to insult Kenilworth Golf Club, golfers in general, the English, the Scots, people he had played with, people he had played against, people who had managed him - pretty well everybody really - but he did it in a very amusing way - and of course, he knew that at 6 feet 6 inches tall nobody present was going to argue with him.
Along with Club Captain Charles Leggitt he gave a demonstration of rucking as was allowed (if not legal) in the days when he played. He did this with particular emphasis to a match against England when Will Carling was tackled leaving him as fair game for those who wanted the ball or just wanted to leave their mark on the England Captain.
