The Seniors Presentation Dinner

19th October saw the Seniors gather with their ladies for the annual Presentation Dinner.  Following the 3 course meal past Captain Lesley Leggitt presented the trophies to the 2018 competition winners.

Dave Meehan - winner of the Seniors' Challenge Cup for the 2nd time

As winner of the Seniors' Major Dave gave the traditional speech in which he commented on how difficult it seems to be to hit a stationary ball compared to other sports where the ball is moving.  He demonstrated the correct setup - just before you "wallop the ball"


Dot Daly presented the newly instituted Daly Cup in memory of past Seniors' Captain Brian Daly.  

The winner in this inaugural year was Chris Bates

Following the presentations Seniors' Captain Tony Ranger proposed a toast to the ladies in which he commented on how lucky the Kenilworth Seniors are to have such sweet natured wives as they do.  Lesley Leggitt responded on behalf of the ladies and thanked Tony for the toast.  She reminisced on how this was her 3rd time preforming this role having previously done it in her Vice Captain's year and her Captain's year.  She recounted a conversation with husband Charles in which they discussed whether computer in Spanish should be treated as masculine or feminine. The details of the conversation will not be included here so as not to give offence to either gender and to avoid the club getting involved in a costly legal battle.
