The Ladies Celebration Evening

Thursday 18th November saw Captain Maggie Smith and the Ladies Section celebrate their summer of golf with the presentation of trophies and dinner.
The table groaned under the weight of silver

Prior to  dinner two presentations were made. First up was Maisie Halstead (aged 10) receiving the Mitchell Bowl. This is the Section's premier ladies knockout trophy, she took some big scalps on the way to victory!

In addition to receiving her "first major" Maisie also took ownership of some England and Wales mementoes of her success in "Beating the Blind Golfer" on Captains' Charity Day earlier in the season.

Next the Nellie Kaye Salver was presented to Emma Saywell by Nellie's son Chris Kaye.

After a super meal the main  presentation began, officiated by Brenda Sparrow.

In particular congratulations go to newcomers Rachel Smith (4th from the right - Margaret Murdoch Trophy) and Ceri Pegler ( 2nd from the right - Lapin Trophy) on their first "silver" winnings, not the last no doubt.

The premier trophy of the Section was presented to Liz Higgitt for the fourth consecutive year!

Last but not least the highly sought after Penguin biscuits were distributed to those golfers who scored a gross birdie over last Winter's competitions. Here's one very happy recipient, there's another one on an earlier photo, can you spot her?

Congratulations Nina Noon proud penguin  winner!

Maggie would like to thank all those involved in making this a great evening.
