Christmas Shotgun Results

It was wet underfoot but thankfully not raining as members played out the Christmas Shotgun competitions.  The sun was shining brightly at times which was great for the spirit but not so helpful when hitting your shot straight at it as we found on some holes.

Thanks are due to the green staff who got as much of the course as possible available for these highlights of the winter golfing calendar.  Despite the general dampness of the course the greens were in excellent condition and rewarded good putting. 138 members took part and most were able to carry their clubs to protect the course as much as possible.  The shortened course also meant a quicker round so it was good for all players to finish in what might be a record time for these competitions.

Morning and afternoon competitions were won with totals of 40 points which, given the conditions and the fact that only 17 holes were played, were commendable results. A full list of prize winners is given after the photos of the winning pairs.

The morning competition was won by Dave Mayor and Andrew Mee.  Andrew's hole in one on the 4th clearly helped to lift them to their winning 40 point total.

The afternoon competition was won by Matt James and Ian Goadsby on count back.
