Happy New Year to One and All

Kenilworth Golf Club saw out the old year and welcomed the new year in style as the new decade began.  The clubhouse was full as members and their friends celebrated while Old Father TIme slipped into history and the new year was born.

A sumptuous buffet meal was provided as Stuart and Sammie marshalled the guests and the staff very efficiently through the first part of the evening.  Entertainment was provided by Michael Buble and Robbie Williams - although there were rumours to the effect that it wasn't the real ones who sang for us.  Nonetheless the dancers were dancing and the party goers were partying along.  At midnight the assembled throng formed into circles to belt out Auld Lang Syne following which kisses and hand shakes were exchanged as appropriate.

Soon after 12 the fireworks began.  Fortunately the weather was kind and so the onlookers were able to watch the show from the balcony and patio as the coloured explosions rocked the sky.  And all to soon it was all over - time for carriages and home to bed - to sleep - perchance to dream and so on...

Apologies for all those who might seem a bit blurred in the photographs - perhaps your eyes have not sobered up yet - or perhaps the camera was a little bit blurred in its activity for the evening.

The Michael Buble part of the evening

Captains Liz and Malcolm showed the way

Paul in a contemplative mood                                                                                                        Charles relaxed

Sometimes it was easier to join in without leaving your seat

But lots of dancing took place too - old style and more modern

Sorting out the human chain and then a chorus of Auld Lang Syne

The President sorted out the champagne

Time for fireworks

Then everyone came back in and some took to their carriages while others continued to rock around the clock and the room

So it's "Happy New Year" from me and it's "Happy New Year" from them
